TapeMan 1.1LatestAugust 2026

Beat-synced tape, Punch It FX, and live monitoring

TapeMan 1.1 turns the cassette into a performance loop machine. Loops lock to the beat, Punch It FX arrives as a dedicated effects workflow, USB monitoring gets its own return path, and the take library carries versions and stems across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Beat-synced live tape

  • Half-bar to eight-bar live loops captured straight from the tape.
  • Tempo from MIDI clock, detected audio beats, or tap and manual entry.
  • Quantized capture and release so loops start and end on the grid.
  • PRE FX and POST FX capture — record the dry source or the performed result.
  • ½×, 1×, and 2× tape speed while the loop keeps its place.

Punch It FX

  • Color, Motion, and Space effect families, stackable in real time.
  • Raw and Direct modes for immediate hands-on control.
  • XY performance pad with selectable XY mappings.
  • Punch performances bounce non-destructively into a new version.

Live USB monitoring

  • Class-compliant USB audio input with selectable input and output pairs.
  • A separate USB return path for monitoring without feedback.
  • Compatible speaker fallback when the interface disconnects mid-session.
  • Signal-activated recording works on USB inputs too.

Takes, versions, and stems

  • Originals, processed versions, bounces, and stems grouped on one take.
  • Notes and tempo metadata written alongside each recording.
  • Search, sort, filter, loop, rename, trim, share, and delete in place.
  • Optional on-device stem separation into vocals, drums, bass, and other.

iPad and Mac workflow

  • Native layouts for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
  • Larger tape surface and side-by-side take library on wide screens.
  • Keyboard and pointer support for transport and library actions on Mac.
  • Punch It FX ships as an AUv3 Music Effect for iPhone and iPad hosts.

Local-first privacy

  • No account, no advertising, no tracking, no automatic cloud upload.
  • Stem processing runs locally on the device after installation.
  • The optional stem model is downloaded only after you confirm it.
  • Files leave the device only when you explicitly export or share them.
